GASTRIC BYBASS SURGERY
Gastric sleeve surgery removes 90-95% of the stomach creating a sleeve shaped, very small stomach which restricts food intake without a secondary malabsortive procedure on the small intestine.

Gastric sleeve surgery is a laparoscopy surgery that creates the new reduced stomach that is like a banana with an approximate capacity of 2-5 ounces (60-150cc).

Removal of the Ghrelin hormone which stimulates hunger. As a result, the patient has little appetite after surgery which doesn't occur in patients who undergo Gastric Bypass or Gastric Band.

Tijuana
Tijuana is a modern, cosmopolitan city. Tijuana was first settled by the Spanish in the 16th century. Today Tijuana is a large city of over 1.7 million people and is one of the fastest growing cities in Mexico. Many US retailers are a common sight in Tijuana. Starbucks, Costco, Walmart, Sears, TGI Fridays, to name just a few, are there. Residents are polite and friendly, and they are patient with those that don’t speak Spanish. It is common in the Spanish culture that men are very respectful of women, chivalry has not been lost! Children are respectful of their elders. Religion is very much entrenched in Mexican day to day living. Education is valued, students appear to be very focused on their studies. Our Tijuana experiences have always been enjoyable and we can't wait to return.
