Arm Lift

Achieve Slimmer Upper Arms

Following bariatric surgery and subsequent weight loss, you may find that you have sagging skin or excess fat deposits on your upper arms. If so, you may be a good candidate for an arm lift with our Tijuana, Mexico surgeons. During this procedure, sagging skintightened to give you firmer, slimmer arms. Following surgery, your upper arms will more closely match the overall contours of your body and your healthy new size. Our surgeons can use several techniques, and will carefully select the right type of arm lift for you.

Do I Qualify for Arm Lift Surgery?
If you have recently lost a significant amount of weight and have sagging skin on your upper arms, you may be a good candidate for an arm lift. However, to qualify for surgery, you must already be at a stable weight. If you plan to lose more weight, or if your weight is still fluctuating, you should postpone cosmetic surgery. Additionally, you should be in good overall health. Arm lifts are very safe, especially when you select an experienced surgeon. However, if you have a compromised immune system, or a health condition that may impede healing, an elective procedure may pose unnecessary risks.

Understanding the Arm Lift Procedure

An incision is made in your upper arms and  excess skin is trimmed away, repositioning the tissues so that they rest smoothly against your arm. There are several types of incision options, depending on the amount of excess skin and the area that you want to address:
Upper arm lift: We will create an incision along the inside or the back of your arm. This method may be appropriate if you have a moderate amount of excess skin.

Extended Arm Lift
This may be the right solution if you have severely sagging skin. During this procedure, the incision will be made along the back of your arm and partway down the side of your chest.

Mini Arm Lift
f you only desire a minor enhancement, we may recommend a mini arm lift. With this technique, we will place the incision in the underarm area.

In some cases, liposuction is performed before closing the incisions. You should expect to see some swelling and inflammation during your initial healing time, and you will need to wear compression bandages. In most cases, you should take two to three weeks off from work, and you should avoid strenuous physical activity during this time. Typically, it may be about six weeks before you can begin running, heavy lifting, and similar activities.

Risks and Benefits of Arm Lift Surgery
Arm lift surgery is very safe, and involves few long-term risks. But as with all surgery, there is a chance of infection, bleeding, nerve damage, or similar complications. Dr. Huacuz follows rigorous safety protocols, and his many years of experience help reduce these risks. It is important to note that arm lift surgery will leave visible scars. However, Dr. Huacuz will place the incisions in discreet locations to minimize their appearance. Many patients feel that the benefits of arm lift surgery outweigh the resulting scars.
